• LEMAC

Reconfigurable liquid electromagnetic systems for motors and large electric machines. LEMAC is designed to improve power density, service life and operating flexibility by combining electrical conduction with heat management and changing electromagnetic characteristics during operation.

Its electronic-gearbox function adapts winding characteristics across a wide operating range. Rare-earth-free configurations address permanent-magnet material dependence and demagnetization limits.

    Performance & Applications

Design targets include winding current density of 50–100 A/mm², compared with the conventional 5–10 A/mm² range used in the pitch; 6–20 times short-duration output per unit rotor surface; and 88–94% efficiency in targeted high-speed continuous duty. Large-machine excitation-loss reduction is estimated at up to about 75% in the stated application range.

Target markets include eVTOL takeoff and landing, motorsport, commercial vehicles, rail traction, marine propulsion, mining equipment, synchronous condensers and generators. These performance estimates require prototype and application validation.

    Further Technical Discussion

Detailed architecture, engineering structures, conductor arrangements and implementation parameters can be discussed after signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

  • How LEMAC Earns Revenue

BriLo licenses LEMAC intellectual property to motor, electric-drive and power-equipment manufacturers. Revenue comes from development licenses when a customer starts a product program and royalties as licensed products reach commercial shipment.

Licensees manufacture, integrate and sell their equipment. The initial commercial focus is high-power niches, heavy-duty operation and large electrical machines.

    Market Scale

The pitch’s 2025 market assumptions are USD 3.4 billion for commercial-vehicle electric traction motors, USD 13.0 billion for rail traction motors, USD 0.72 billion for synchronous condensers and USD 2.1 billion for eVTOL propulsion motors.

Potential licensees include Allison Transmission, Dana, ZF, BorgWarner, Cummins / Accelera, Eaton, Siemens Mobility, Alstom, Hitachi Rail, Wabtec, GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, ABB and eVTOL propulsion developers. Marine, mining, space propulsion and fusion coils provide further market opportunities.

    Planned Market Share

The royalty-market model targets a staged share ramp of 1%, 3%, 7%, 12% and 20% from the first royalty year. The mature planning assumption is 20% in the modeled target markets.

Passenger-car main drives are outside the initial focus. Marine, mining, space propulsion and fusion applications are additional opportunities outside the base royalty model.
